Amplification and focus

It was Henry’s day off! He told everybody that is not available on this Sunday till 6 pm - neither his family nor his friends nor his boss should bother him because TODAY  something important has to be decided.

These last years were frustrating although many good things happened! The new job, their second child, they could even visit their friends in America.

“We live in a beautiful house,” he thought by himself, “in the suburbs. It is not paid yet, okay but this is also not a problem if we continue like that.”

And that was the problem. He couldn't continue like that. The bloody rain was creeping into his collar as he walked along the river. The vision of the next years to come made him freeze. Everything was planned, there was no space left for ... the UNPLANNED! The freedom to say NO! For example, he would love to go fishing with his first son or just do some crazy stuff like when he was younger.

As the tall neighbor came along and stopped a few steps away from him, the guy stared at him. Henry prepared himself for an unwanted conversation…

"Neighbor!"
"Hello!” the tall man in a dark suit replied. “How are you today?" ‘
Something forced Henry to look straight into the dark brown eyes of the man living close to his house.  “I am fine! What about you?”

It was difficult for Henry to lie actually, but he did not want to share personal things here.

"I am better now. It is always good to see the other side!" the neighbor said gently.
Henry felt better. “What do you mean by that?”

"You know, I am a busy person. Sometimes I get bogged down in details, and it takes me way too long to accomplish my goals. Life sometimes passes before me, and I don’t even realize it. Something has to be changed here.”

This was almost a description of how Henry felt himself! “Could you give me an example, Sir?”
“Sure. At a certain level in life, it is not about quantity but quality. In quantity, you can juggle around a little bit, but 100 % will always be 100% - there is no 110%.

Whereas in quality there are practically no limits! If you have one minute in an hour for yourself, you can expand this one minute in quality towards the infinite! I don’t need holidays – I keep an eye open to find those little holes in a tight schedule. They shine bright like the sun through the clouds,  and they connect you with infinity.”

Henry loved the picture and went home more positive even though he id not really understand what the man was talking about.
